Saturday, 10am-5pm & Sunday, 10am-4pm, in Washington Park

DubuqueFest’s juried fine art fair in Washington Park features the work of 70 artists & artisans. We invite you to meet the artists, learn about process & inspiration, and invest in original hand crafted pieces. Shop for hand-blown & fused glass, ceramics, metal work, free form sculpture, painting, jewelry, fiber, fabric, photography, mixed media, textiles, copper work, hand turned wood, watercolors, leather work, wearable art, & more! It’s an art gallery in the park! Free. Visit our Gallery of Artists for a sneak peak of the fair.

Untitled-1_03What makes YOU happy?  Revisit DubuqueFest 2014 with DAAC’s finished documentary

Saturday 10am-5pm & Sunday 10am-4pm, in Washington Park

You’re invited to join Dubuque Area Arts Collective for a viewing of their documentary collaborative project, which will be continuously shown during the Art Fair.  Filmed at last year’s DubuqueFest, festival patrons were encouraged to share their stories through words, writing, and art.  This community engagement project made possible by funding from Sustainable Dubuque. Free.

Children’s Creation Station

Saturday 10am-5pm & Sunday 10am-4pm in Washington Park

Parents and children are invited to get creative with hands-on projects. This year artist Andrea Grace leads you in exploring bubble art, “paper stained glass,” and collage.  This project is made possible by funding from Iowa Arts Council. Free.

Dubuque Area Writers Guild Gallery 2015 dawg“Portraits: Writing & Art on the Body” Book Release & Reception

Friday 6pm, at Dubuque Museum of Art

The Dubuque Area Writers Guild invites you to the reading & release reception for the 2015 Gallery, “Portraits: Writing & Art on the Body,” an anthology of original work featuring local writers and artists. Celebrate an evening of words, refreshments, and readings by selected contributors. Books will be available for purchase at the reception, and at the art fair information booth in Washington Park throughout the weekend. Free.

Record Fair

Saturday 10am-5pm in Roshek Building Lobby (Enter on 7th Street)

The Record Fair will showcase local retailers and private collectors offering vinyl records & 45s for sale or trade. Vendors will offer everything from high-end, out-of-print rarities, to more common titles at bargain prices. The fair will slant heavily toward vinyl sales and awareness of the record stores in the region, but vendors will also offer CDs, cassettes, DVDs, books, apparel and many other goodies.  Free.

Rain Barrel Silent Auctionrain-barrel

Saturday 10am-5 pm & Sunday 10am-4pm, in Washington Park

Save money on your gardening this season, and take home your own piece of sustainable, functional art by bidding on a hand-painted rain barrel!  Local schools, non-profits, and youth organizations constructed and decorated each unique barrel, and all of the proceeds from the silent auction will be given back to the artists.  Members of Green Dubuque will be onsite at the auction to answer questions about using rain barrels and why water conservation is so important.  This project was made possible by generous donations from Steve’s Ace Hardware, Dubuque Stamping & Manufacturing, Inc., Mautz Sherwin-Williams, and Luthor Manor.

Bike Valetbikes

Friday 5pm-10 pm, Saturday 10am-10pm, and Sunday 10am-3pm, on Main Street

Let’s ride! Join the Dubuque Bike Coop and local bicycle shops in ditching that car and biking to DubuqueFest!  Volunteers will staff a secure, barricaded bike valet service near the Town Clock throughout the entire festival.  Park your bike worry-free while you enjoy art, music, food and more!  Free.

Grab your yoga mat or a blanket and join instructors Lora Fuller and Kirstin Pope from Kneaded Health & Wellness for yoga on the lawn. A gentle morning stretch for all levels.  Saturday session is for adults & children. Sunday session is for adults. Breathe! Free.

Knit in Public Day! knitting

Sunday 1 pm – 3 pm in Washington Park

Join other enthusiasts for a fun, informal celebration of all things yarn-related!  Grab your needles, hooks, skeins, and a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a relaxing afternoon of knit or crochet crafting on the lawn.  Local fiber expert Sara Freund from Yarn Soup will be onsite to answer any questions and share fun ideas to step up your string game!  Click here to checkout this awesome human loom video made at last year’s DubuqueFest!
